I am an official brush whore! Yes I am and I am proud of it!
Brushes are extremely important to us makeup artist, and to anybody who wears makeup.. day to night we all need professional brushes....
One single brush can cost up to $100 in a department store; it is kind of pricey don't you think? I'm not knocking department stores and their prices.. everybody who has worked with me knows I have 2 of each MAC brush. But what I am saying is that it is extremely expensive to invest in so many brushes... that is why I am writing this blog! EBay baby!!!!
I have bought a few sets of 'no-name' brands on eBay... and I must say, they are fabulous! Some people may say 'well those brushes are from China and their probably cheap like the price'; well shoot, everything now a days is made in China! The clothing we wear; the name brand shoes we buy!!!! So don't you think that the brushes that are made in China would be just as good.. well I'm here to say yes, yes they are and I know for a fact.
Save some money people and look fierce. Here is a link of a set of 34 brushes on EBay for only $35 and it comes with free shipping! http://health-beauty.shop.ebay.com/Makeup-/31786/i.html?_trkparms=65%253A12%257C66%253A2%257C39%253A1%257C72%253A1205&_nkw=brush%20set&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_pgn=1
There are so many other types of brush sets on EBay; don't we love them! :)
Brush of my life: KABUKI BRUSH
For those who don't know what a Kabuki brush is; it is a larger and fuller version of the fan brush. It is excellent for loose powder for under the eye, for contouring and so much more. Here is another EBay link: http://cgi.ebay.com/Reduced-Kabuki-red-Fan-makeup-brush-Natural-FREE-SHIP_W0QQitemZ280288051289QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item4142784059&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
Who knew you can have a whole set of brushes like a pro for only $50 right! But like a pro, you need to take care of the brushes for making the best of your purchase...
How to properly take care of your makeup brushes???
It's so simple; prior to using your new purchase, make sure to wash each brush with any type of gentle soap and conditioner. Conditioner is a great trick to keep your brushes together... it prevents fall out like our real hair. Make sure to wash your brushes at least once a week after that... treat your makeup brushes like you would your own hair. I know alot of people use brush cleanser, so do I but that leaves a residue which can minimize brush life. I personally use Palmolive Dish Soap because it cleans perfectly and it also have anti-bacteria position in it!
Enjoy those brushes ya'll.. and create your masterpiece!!!!
